Ekal Abhiyan - Charity Partner at Zee Cine Awards 2019

Zee Cine Awards (ZCA), instituted in 1997, a magical celebration of Indian Cinema, reaches out to an expanse of ZEE’s channels that entertains over 959 million viewers across 171 countries. This year, Zee Cine Awards 2019 stood for and supported the cause of educating underprivileged children in the remote tribal areas of India and partnered with Ekal Abhiyan.

On their award function night ie. 19th March 2019, ZCA seamlessly integrated Ekal’s initiatives and its brilliant students into the Event in the following way:

1. 5 Young students of Ekal Vidyalaya walked the Bollywood stars along the red carpet. The celebrities walking on the red carpet that night, supported and endorsed EKAL.
2. 3 Ekal achievers in their respective fields were felicitated on-stage during the Event namely-
   • Pinky Karmakar – who represented India in Torch Run before the London Olympics in 2012 in Nottingham, United Kingdom.
   • Divya Madgave – Gold Medallist in Intermediate National Karate Champion
   • Shri Ram Chandra Varma – Seva Varti who has developed villages
3. A Short film on Ekal's was displayed to the audience, which will be broadcasted in 173 countries in 19 languages.

The telecast of ceremony is scheduled on 31^st March 2019 on Zee Cinema channel at 12 noon, with red carpet showcased from 11.30 am onwards.
