- Sanjay Malviya
I had an opportunity to see the activities of Integrated Village Development (IVD) closely in the Dang region of Gujarat, story of success in village Pipplarh of Pampa Sarovar.
In this dense tribal-dominated Dang district I was informed that about 30 sisters come to the sewing center from around 15 to 20 kms from nearby small villages and about 25 children come for the computer classes. These tribal brothers go to surrounding villages and inspire people in cultivation of organic farming and nutrition.
Shri Kokdi told me that before the opening of this center, people from the village had to travel 40 kms to receive such education.Shri Sandeep Kokadi, who is teaching computer science at this center, said that there is a 9-year-old handicapped child in our center who can neither hear nor speak, is very much attracted to the computers and regularly comes to the class and learns well.
