Ekal Run in Nepal

Ekal Yuva from Nepal organized their first Ekal Run at DAV School. They were quite happy with response and made use of the opportunity to convey the works of Ekal Abhiyan.

Success through Integrated Village Development (IVD)

I had an opportunity to see the activities of Integrated Village Development (IVD) closely in the Dang region of Gujarat, story of success in village Pipplarh of Pampa Sarovar.
In this dense tribal-dominated Dang district I was informed that about 30 sisters come to the sewing center from around 15 to 20 kms from nearby small villages and about 25 children come for the computer classes. These tribal brothers go to surrounding villages and inspire people in cultivation of organic farming and nutrition.
Shri Kokdi told me that before the opening of this center, people from the village had to travel 40 kms to receive such education.Shri Sandeep Kokadi, who is teaching computer science at this center, said that there is a 9-year-old handicapped child in our center who can neither hear nor speak, is very much attracted to the computers and regularly comes to the class and learns well.

World Environment Day celebrations

Ekal villages celebrated World Environment Day by planting trees across India on June 5th and created awareness about the importance and maintenance of green cover.

Hunsur Ekal On Wheels completes one year

Ekal on Wheels in Hunsur has successfully completed the first batch of training. These students visited Ekal Vidyalaya, interacted with the children and motivated them to join them. They also conducted a plantation drive.

JAL DHAN by Ekal Jammu

Ekal Abhiyan Jammu in collaboration with Gokul Braj Foundation supplied water through water tankers in karkari village of Samba district which is facing severe drought. Ekal Abhiyan provided water to 12 villages in collaboration with Gokul Braj Foundation.
The villagers blessed the workers and said that people who do not even know them have so much sympathy in their hearts for them.

Ekal in 'Microsoft Giving Campaign'

Ekal’s participation in ‘Microsoft Giving Campaign’ in their campus in Hyderabad last year, have started getting regular contributions. In the last six months Ekal has got INR 10.9 lakhs from Indian contributions and INR 2.3 lakhs from UK. This is an ongoing program.

Ekal students shine in sports

An Ekal student, Karn Singh from village Rajol, in Kotla block of Himachal Pradesh competes in national wrestling. Karn, from the very beginning was a sports lover with special interest in wrestling. He used to participate in all bouts around. He later performed very well in the state championship and won several awards. He performed very well in the national championship. Similarly, a girl, Shabina, from the same Ekal Vidyalaya, excelled in Kho-Kho and Kabbadi at state level.

Red Revolution program by Surat Mahila Samithi

On June 11th  2019, in Songhad and Amlipada villages in Gujarat, Tapi Anchal, about 50 tribal sisters of Ekal were educated on menstrual cycle, its problems, the diseases caused due to lack of hygiene, remedies and cure, by Surat Mahila samiti. They also answered queries by the local women and distributed sanitary pads to all at free of cost.

Ekal Impact

This is the story of Silli block under Ranchi district of Jharkhand. In a number of villages of this block many students, who had started their studies in Ekal Vidyalayas have gone for higher studies and after completion were able to get good employment opportunities.
Sunita (now 21 yrs), a resident of Kareydih village of the Silli block is now serving in the MGM Medical College & Hospital as a staff nurse. In the year 2004 to 2006 she was a regular student in Ekal Vidyalaya in the village. After this she was directly admitted to sixth grade in the local government school. Later she graduated passing the Jharkhand Academic Council examination. After graduation she took training for nursing, as she was always interested in community service. Passing out, once again, in first grade she got employment with ease.
Sunita's parents and she herself talk, without any hesitation, as to how Ekal has changed their life.

Shri Suresh Iyer visits Ekal villages in India

EVFUSA President Shri Suresh Iyer visited Ekal Vidyalayas at Nanakmatta and Sitarganj on 2nd and 3rd June. He had a feedback session with Acharyas of the Sanch on E-Shiksha. He also tested the learning outcome of students in language and arithmetic.
He was very happy and impressed with their confidence and the quick and accurate response of the children.

Dream India Tour, 2019

The 5th 'Dream India Tour' (DIT) was held at Nanakmatta Sanch, Uttrakhand from 14th -16th June 2019. Students from reputed colleges of Delhi learned about the adoption of digital learning at Ekal Vidyalayas. The tour also included a survey of village households under 'Unnat Bharat Abhiyan', in association with IITM.

Workshop for South Zone Nagar Sangathan organized

Workshop to educate the Nagar Sangathan samithies of all 5 states of South India, on the current changes at Ekal Abhiyan and their roles, responsibilities and expectations happened at Telangana, organized well by FTS Telangana chapter from June 22 - 23.
