Pittsburg raises for Tablets to Ekal

The event at Pittsburg to raise funds to gift TABLETS to 30 Ekal villages in India was very successful.

Fund raising event by Ekal Central NJ Chapter

Central NJ Chapter organized annual fund raising event with Madhura and Diapayan group at Nicholas ctr, Rutgers University to raise funds for Ekal Vidyalaya. The event raised funds for about 200 Vidyalayas and still expecting more. Ekal Youth volunteer Shri Rhydam Satav, daughter of Chapter VP Smt Shilpa, auctioned few paintings to raise funds for 5 more Vidyalayas.

Shoe drive by Ekal Chicago Youth Chapter

Ekal Chicago Youth Chapter held a shoe drive for a local shelter home resulting in over 100 gently used/new shoes and tons of awareness of Ekal from school announcements to label Ekal Boxes. Tanya Sheth was leading the effort with support from Rushabh Jahagirdar. The two youth will be showcasing their work at the upcoming Chicago North show.

Health conference by Rajasthan Arogya Foundation

Two days health conference was organized by Arogya foundation of Rajasthan Sambhag on 20th April, 2019 at Sahakar Marg, Sevasadan Jaipur, Rajasthan.

Dr. Avinish Mata, Dr. M.S. Bhat, Dr. Mukul Bhatia, Dr. B.M. Bhat, Smt. Sunita Bhat, Smt. Prabha Bhat, Shri. Satish Gupta, Shri Narvesh Singh Shekhawat, Shri Ramdev Sharma, Smt. Shobha Gupta, Shri. Virendra Kedia, Sambhag samethi, Arogya sanch samethi and Arogya coordinators participated.

Ekal on Wheels Certificate distribution Program at Amrabad, Telangana

- Sreedhar, Friends of Tribals Society, Telangana Chapter 

On 26th March 2019, First Batch of "Ekal on Wheels" of Amrabad, Telangana, Certificate Distribution Program was organized at Amrabad, Nagar kurnool District, Telangana. Shri. Ramesh Shah, Shri. Lalan, Shri. Uday graced the occasion. Amrabad Circle Inspector of Police Shri. Beesanna, Amrabad Mandal Education Officer Shri. Balakishan attended the program. About 250 students participated in the program. Students shared their experience and thanked Ekal for the initiative.

Phase 2 of Ekal's E-Shiksha launched in 7 Indian states

New-age method of teaching through tablets at Ekal Vidyalayas under the E-Shiksha scheme has made a remarkable difference in bringing rapid change in the remote tribal and rural regions of India. The phase-2 of the project was launched on the day of Chaitra Navratri in the states of West Bengal, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Gujarat, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand. The Tablets were distributed to the acharyas to enable ease of teaching and receiving education by the remote villagers and tribals.

Ekal Learning Yatra organized at Girwalpura for Indore students

A group of students from different institutions in Indore participated in an educational tour to the forest village of Girwalpura in MP, 100 kms from Indore city. The Indore students learnt about the methodology used by Ekal and marveled at the computer labs on buses for the tribal students and the processes used by Ekal to impart education at the grass root level, making awareness and learning reach every child. 

Career guidance for Tribal girls

An interactive career guidance workshop was organized by Seva Bharathi Girls Hostel for 10th and 11th standard tribal girls on 17th April. About 50 girls participated. Ekal Yuva members Shri Shashank Agarwal and Shri Navin Khandelwal educated the girls about the career and job opportunity after 10th and 12th standards and also briefed them about Central Government’s Skill Development Program.

Sneh Milan by Shri Ramesh Shah at Tapi Anchal

Shri Ramesh Shah from USA met and interacted with about 400 Acharyas and Karyakarthas at Tapi Anchal during Sneh Milan. He discussed about Ekal program and progress at Tapi and Narmada Anchals.

Holi, Ugadi Mela at Telangana

Friends of Tribals Society, Telangana Chapter members participated in "Holi and Ugadi Mela" organized by Agarwal Samaj, Telangana at Hyderabad on 7th April 2019.  The event was graced by Shri. J.Swaminathan CGM, SBI, Smt. Manju Shree, Shri. Subhash Agarwal, President, Agarwal Samaj, Shri.Ajai Agarwal Vice President, FTS, Telangana and others. Over 2000 members attended the event. Friends of Tribals Society Telangana Chapter presented a short film on Ekal to create awareness among the participants. A stall was also arranged to spread the message of Ekal Abhiyan.  Speaking on the occasion Smt. Manju Shree invited all participants to join the Ekal movement to build New India.

Entertainment with a purpose

FTS Telangana Mahila Samithy organized a special demonstration class of IKEBANA. During the time, the participants were briefed about Ekal Abhiyan. 5 participants have committed to adopt 5 different villages. 5 participants became member of FTS.

Ekal Yuva at Wada Anchal to establish Skill Labs

On 24th March, a team of 9 Ekal Yuva, Mumbai circle members along with guests from Edu Abroad Consultants, visited 2 villages - Sagpada and Galachapada in Wada Anchal.They introduced Skill Lab team to Ekal Abhiyan and were interested to adopt Ekal villages under their project Chirag.

Vanyatra to Ranchi by East Delhi Chapter of the BLSP

Bharatiya Lok Shiksha Parishad’s East Delhi Chapter conducted a 3 days Vanyatra in Ranchi from 5th to 7th April 2019. The team of 53 people consists Ekal Vidyalaya’s distinguished donors, industrialists, social workers and intellectuals. The team visited Madhuban village of Dhanbad, Baragi village of Giridih and tele-medicine facility at Golla sanch.
