'FUTURE OF INDIA' GALA, a grand success!


LONG BEACH, Calif. – Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation of USA presented its first glittering and glamorous ‘Future of India’ fundraiser gala at the Hyatt Regency on Sept.14, featuring Bollywood heartthrob Shri Vivek Oberoi as the special guest, actor Shri Omi Vaidya as the emcee, and Dr Emily Church, executive director of the XPrize Foundation, as the keynote speaker. The event helped raise over $2 Million.

Novel idea by Boston Ekal Mela team


On Independence Day Ekal Booth in Boston sold new or lightly worn donated clothes including sarees, suits etc. The idea brought many to the booth and helped raise money. People donating the clothes were happy that their clothes were being used to raise funds for a good cause and they were not throwing away beautiful clothes!

 

Fruit bearing tree seeds planted by FTS, Koderma


Friends of Tribal Society, Koderma Anchal, distributed 10,000 fruit plants for free to 330 villages of 11 sanchs under Poshan Vatika health care program.

 

Health camp at Fatepur Sikri


Arogya Foundation of India organized health camp at Fatepur Sikri in Agra on 12th September. There was a discussion on the physical, mental and intellectual development of children. Dental care and testing also done.

 

Friends of Tribals Society, Kolkata Chapter hosts 30th Annual Function


The Kolkata Chapter of Friends of Tribals Society (FTS), held its 30th Annual Function on 1st September, 2019 at Kala Mandir Auditorium, Kolkata.
Shri Suresh Chand Bansal, an eminent industrialist was present as the Chief Guest. Shri Sanjay Jain. Sambhag Samiti Adhyaksh, Jabalpur Chapter of FTS delivered the Keynote Address. Senior Office bearers such as Shri M. L. Jain, Shri Sajjan Bhajanka, Shri Sajan Kr.Bansal, Shri Ramesh Kr. Saraogi and Shri Ramesh Maheshwari were present at the function. FTS Kolkata Chapter President, Shri Kishan Kr. Kejriwal, Secretary, Shri Niraj Harodia and associate organization Sreehari Satsanga Samity President, Shri Pradip Rawalwasia and Secretary, Shri Subhas Murarka  along with their team members planned a glittering string of performances at the auditorium.
The function was a grand success and it ended with the pledge of reaching further heights in the spread of education in the country in the rural and tribal regions.

 

Janmashtami celebrated


Sri krishna janmastami was greatly celebrated at mantralayam (Adoni sanch, kurnool Anchal, Abdhra Bhag) on 24th August 2019 from morning till evening. This was conducted by local samithi where narayanapuram village Ekal students participated with their kolata dance. Shri Eranna  along with sevavrathis participated.

“Ekal Vidyalaya-One Teacher schools” for remote tribal and rural children and ‘Friends of Tribal Society’ has been selected as the Winner for the Dalmia Bharat - CSRBOX 6th CSR Impact Awards'.

 

FTS Kolkata attracts Yuva


Friends of Tribals Society, Kolkata Chapter along with Ekal Yuva organised special session for new members to make them aware about Ekal activities and how they can play active role in Ekal. The session attracted about 15 new members.

 

More awards and recognition!


Friends of Tribals Society was conferred with the Pride of Bengal Award 2019, for its outstanding contribution in social service, by ICC young leaders forum & round table India.
Shri Ramesh Kumar Maheshwari, FTS National General Secretary received the award on behalf of Ekal Abhiyan and he was joined by Shri Kishan Kumar Kejriwal, President, Kolkata chapter and Shri Niraj Harodia, Chapter Secretary.
The organization also received Gurukul Awards for its contribution to education.

 

Coimbatore Ekal Sansthan meet

The Coimbatore Chapter of  Ekal Sansthan  along with  Indica, were engaged in cultural reawakening, marked the Universal Brotherhood day with a memorial lectures on Swami Vivekananda and Mahakavi Subramania Bharathi by eminent academician and orator, Dr K Subrahmanyam at the Sri Kothanda Ramar temple in Ram Nagar in Coimbatore on 11th and 12th September 2019.
Shri T S Mohan Sankar, Chairperson, Ekal Study Circle - Coimbatore, welcomed the gathering.
Smt Dharma Subramaniam highlighted the working of Ekal Abhiyan and explained Ekal Sansthan's contributions and achievements to reach out to the underprivileged and the tribals.

Small adjustable tables attached to the bags given to Ekal children


Coimbatore City Ladies Circle 16 (CCLC16) is a non- political, non-sectarian and a zero-overhead organization working towards rural development and social cause. As part of the theme “Educate to Enlighten”, donated custom made school bags with small adjustable tables attached to the bags. A very useful and innovative idea. These bags were given to the children of four Ekal Vidyalayas in Sirumugai near Coimbatore, managed by Friends of Tribals Society, Coimbatore Chapter. The distribution of the bags was done by Smt Kavita Maheshwary (Secretary – ladies wing of Friends of Tribals Society, Coimbatore).
