An online GeoBee for students of all grades to raise money as support for digital education!
Hi, I’m Akshu Enaganti. I’m a 9th grader from Detroit, Michigan, and I have been involved with Ekal for around 3-4 years now.
I’m Paarth Sharma. I’m an 8th grader from Kalamazoo, Michigan, and am new to Ekal.
Together, our mission is to fundraise for Ekal by running an international GeoBee. Well, you may ask, what is a GeoBee? GeoBee is an acronym for “Geography Bee”, and is a generalized term referring to a competition where contestants compete for some prizes by answering geography questions. Typically, GeoBees are held in multiple rounds, with different themes[such as politics or animals] in each round and cumulative scores are invited to the next rounds. We plan to implement a GeoBee as a DIY Fundraiser through EKAL, and all proceeds will be donated to the foundation. We have chosen digital education as to where our donations should go within the foundation.
We chose a GeoBee as the best way to implement a fundraiser as this has been a passion of both of us for years now. We both have been involved with participating in GeoBees for the past 7-8 years. Geography has been both of our passions throughout our childhoods, and we thought hosting a GeoBee together would be the perfect way for us to fundraise for a good cause through something we love.
Our mission has a great cause in mind. By hosting this GeoBee fundraiser, students, who maybe haven’t had the chance to compete as they would’ve in a year without a pandemic, can get the chance to test their geographic knowledge and learn so much more about our world. Competitors can also receive prizes for performing well in the competition. It will be a fun experience for anyone who joins, regardless of where they finish. We are also donating all the money we raise for digital education, so donating to our campaign and competing will help show your support for underprivileged students in India. You will definitely achieve a sense of self-satisfaction by knowing you have helped other students by donating.
Our goal is to raise $4500 for this campaign, and as mentioned before, 100% of the proceeds go to supporting digital education. Participating in the contest will be a great experience for any student, and donating any amount of money would go a long way to helping us reach our goal. If you'd like to participate, the entrance fee is $10, and if you're donating, any amount would be appreciated. Even if you can’t donate, you can help us achieve our goal by sharing via social media, and by passing the word on to friends, family members, and others.

We hope you support our campaign by participating or donating. Thanks for reading, and have a great day!
