Rishabh's Solo Recital by Raganjali School of Music
Hello, my name is Rishabh Tole, and I am a rising Junior in Xaverian Brothers High School. I have been learning hindustani classical music since the tender age of 3. I started learning from Mrs. Asha Alur and then I graduated to learn from Smt. Swati Panda. For the first few years of my training, I was not enjoying singing as much because it was boring to learn sa re ga ma. As I got older and started to sing light songs as well, it quickly became apparent that classical singing was the strong foundation that light music was built upon. Over the last few years, I have started to truly experience the magic that music offers when it is practiced to a large extent. As the culmination of these efforts, this August, I will be performing in my Manch Pravesh [A debut performance of classical music].
Giving back to the community has always been something that I believed in. It started with the charity I got involved in with my karate. We would package turkey dinners for thanksgiving and then go deliver them to families in need. Although I did not understand the significance, I did begin to realize that it made me feel good after seeing the smiling faces of the families that could not afford the dinners themselves.
I come from a family that is willing to sacrifice almost everything to gain a better education, which has opened my eyes to the importance of education and the role it plays in shaping a person’s life. My vision is that all kids should be able to receive basic education, which is why I chose to support Ekal. I feel empowered knowing that the charity that I support helps people get an education in the depths of poverty, in places even the government finds it hard to reach. I know that many family members may give me gifts for my Manch Pravesh, and thought that the least I could do was to donate them to the charity I support.
