Target audience:  Ages 9-14. Grade levels: 4th-8th 

Course Curriculum: 

Students will learn to write and practice speaking argumentative and informational speeches. They will also learn to become more comfortable speaking in front of audiences.

• Basic public speaking knowledge
• Study different kinds of public speaking 
• Study different public speakers and their speeches
• Write detailed informational and argumentative speeches
• Learn to talk for a couple minutes instead of 30 seconds
• Make a presentation and how to with speak with it 

About the Teacher:

Esha Sajjan, a rising 8th grader at Autrey Mill Middle School, who has been doing public speaking since she was 7 years old. When she was in 3rd grade, her parents started putting her into public speaking classes to get her to be more outgoing and less shy speaking to others. Fortunately, this caused her to become a more outgoing person and have more confidence in speaking to others and in front of large audiences. Her first ever public speaking competition was one that EKAL Vidyalaya was hosting and since that day she has become a part of EKAL. Over the years not only did her writing and speaking get better, but she fell deeper in love with speaking and talking to others about issues going on in this world. As she got older many of her relatives and family friends began to notice the difference in her and how much more confident she is in herself. This workshop that she is teaching is to help kids not only become more confident in speaking in front of others but also to become more confident in themselves.
