Target Audience: Intended for students in Grades 5-8. But everyone is welcom to join!
Workshop Information: Did you know the Takhsila and Nalanda Universities, (which were world-famous in the ancient times) are often regarded as one of the world’s oldest residential universities? Or that the Cholas remained a naval superpower throughout their centuries-long reign? Chances are, you haven’t! Join in on this exploration of India’s ancient landscape to learn more!
Over the course of six sessions, students will be able to explore and develop an understanding of both the Gupta and Chola Empire. Although this is intended to be fun and more laid-back course, students will have the opportunity to learn more in-depth information on topics that are not generally taught in school systems outside of India. This course is best designed for 4th-8th graders, but all are welcome to join! I promise you will learn something new and worthwhile!
**Proceeds from the workshop fees will be used to support students from tribal and remote villages in India.
About Anushka Tyagi:
I am a rising sophomore at Urbana High School, who is deeply passionate about community service. I have been working with U STEMM for almost three years now, and look forward to working with them more. I am additionally involved with various other local committees and groups, such as Recycle My Battery and The Scholarly Program, in which I am the Director of Education. I enjoy tutoring and working with younger children, and was the mentor for the FLL team Techy Titans, who’s innovation project was ranked in the top three in the state of Maryland for the Cargo Connect Challenge
