Bolly-Fusion Dance workshop by Sakshi Palakode

Target audience:  Ages 7-11 (grades 3 - 5)
Course Curriculum
I believe dance is not only about the motion of your arms and legs, but the way you move an audience with the feel of the music. The students will learn to get out of their comfort zone and engage in flow and movement. They will learn how to take in and express the music given through their faces and body. They will learn how to emote and put forward their thoughts. This class will help jumpstart that process and get your kids to tell the same story with different gestures. The first class will mostly be taken up with introductions and understanding everyone's comfort level. Then, the next few classes will be fun-filled learning, which will finally end with a little performance!

About the Teachers:

I, Sakshi Palakode, a rising sophomore at Acton-Boxborough Regional High School, Acton MA, have been dancing since I was 6. I was in India at the time, and was enrolled in Shiamak Davar's Dance School. Having to move across the world made me put a pause on my dancing, but I picked it up again, when I joined DFD Academy in Greater Boston. I was also part of the travel team but had to quit due to personal reasons. I have a younger 9 year old sister, whom I enjoy teaching dance to, and I've always wanted to share my experience with younger kids. I joined Ekal to fulfill my wishes, as well as help for a greater cause. I am the current founder and instructor of the "Bolly-Fusion Dance" workshop. Thank you for considering me!
