Target Audience: Elementary School Students Ages 5 to 10 years old

Workshop Information ( curriculum covered)

Over the course of this workshop, kids will learn the basics of Piano.Students will be given a music sheet and learn how to read the notes and play the piano by using the sheet music. Students will be able to choose the songs that they want to learn from several different piano books as well as songs found online in order to keep them engaged with the class so they are playing a song they like. 

Typically they learn two songs at once, one song that is more easy and fun for them and one song that is typically more challenging. The songs take about three to four weeks to master before they can move up to a new song. Participants can register for any ONE class or sign up for multiple classes at same time.

About the Instructors:

My name is Kriya Mahurkar and along with my friend Shreeya Gharpure we are teaching piano to young elementary students. I am a high school student in 10th grade and go to Irvington high school. I’ve been learning piano for 9 years, over this the course of this workshop I am looking forward to the opportunity to put this knowledge of piano towards a good cause of supporting Ekal Vidyalaya through the tuition proceeds.
