About Ekal Australia

WHO WE ARE?

The Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation of Australia was incorporated as Association with Registration number INC9881322 in NSW, Australia under the Associations Incorporation Act, 1984 on 5th March 2004.  The organisation was formally launched in May 2004 commencing with sponsorship of 30 Ekal Schools.  EVF Australia achieve an important milestone of achieving DGR (Deductible Gift Recipient) status from 1st July 2007 allowing all donations for sponsoring schools to be income tax deductible in Australia.  EVF Australia works in close liaison with and support from the Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation of India (EVFI) for appropriate use and management of funds raised in Australia.

OUR MISSION

Our Mission is holistic development in the remote villages and tribal areas of India and developing neighbouring countries through well-designed, effectual education supporting Literacy, Healthcare, Economic Development and Empowerment.

OUR PURPOSE

The purpose of the EkalVidyalaya Movement is all-round development in rural areas, primarily in the remote and tribal parts of India and the developing neighboring countries. The main focus is on education. It is the largest non-government organization engaged in the education of the poorest of the poor in the world. Along with education, primary health (Arogya) and economic development (Gramothan) are receiving considerable attention.
