Learn with us and help expand educational access in underserved rural communities.
Hi, I'm Shri, a student at Cypress Woods High School who is passionate about academic excellence and expanding educational access for everyone. As someone who has successfully navigated the challenges of rigorous, advanced-level courses, I've seen firsthand how a great teacher and the right guidance can unlock a student's potential. While many of us are fortunate to have access to these resources, millions of children in rural India don't even have a basic school to attend, trapping their families in poverty for generations.
That's why I created Coaching for a Cause, a student-led initiative that turns academic support into an opportunity to give back. Our team of AP Scholars and experienced coaches provides personalized tutoring, Credit by Exam preparation, and AP exam courses such as AP Physics 1. 100% of our coaching time and preparation is volunteered, allowing students to get the academic support they need while their contributions help provide education for children and opportunities for women to build skills, livelihoods, and stronger communities in underserved rural and tribal areas.

Helping a Child Go to School
Ekal Vidyalaya’s mission is to bring tuition-free education directly to remote villages, driven by a powerful fact: while it takes 42 years to graduate an uneducated family out of poverty, with just one first-generation learner, it takes only 12 years. The math behind this mission is simple and powerful: just $500 funds an entire school for approximately 30 children for a full year. Your contributions help break a devastating cycle of poverty by giving a child their first-ever chance to learn, read, and write.
Helping Empower a Woman
Ekal's Women's Empowerment initiatives help women develop livelihoods through tailoring and micro-entrepreneurship, serving their communities through education, or training as community healthcare workers who help bring essential healthcare to remote villages.
Women trained as community health workers focus on preventive health and hygiene education, anemia monitoring and nutrition counseling, telemedicine, women's reproductive health, vaccination awareness, disease prevention, and other forms of community care. These women can earn income for their services while becoming healthcare entrepreneurs and an important link between their villages and medical care. Other women may pursue entrepreneurship through programs such as tailoring training, where they learn practical skills and gain connections to larger market opportunities, helping increase earning potential and self-confidence.
