Learn with us and help expand access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities in underserved rural communities.
Hi! I'm Shri, a student at Cypress Woods High School. While volunteering in rural India, I had the opportunity to teach vocational art to children attending Ekal Vidyalaya schools. Seeing firsthand the importance of educational opportunities in underserved communities inspired me to find a way to make a difference beyond that visit. I founded Coaching for a Cause to connect students in the U.S. seeking academic support with underserved communities in India seeking access to essential resources.
Our instructors, including high-performing students, educators, and subject-matter experts, offer specialized courses, exam prep, and tutoring to students in the U.S. All teaching and preparation time is volunteered, allowing contributions from participating families to support Ekal Vidyalaya's rural development initiatives. While a student in the U.S. gains confidence in a challenging subject, a child in an underserved rural community receives an education, a family gains access to healthcare, or a woman learns the skills to build a livelihood.
The Impact We are Making Together
Thanks to the generosity of participating families, donors, and volunteer instructors, our educational fundraising efforts have raised nearly $50,000 for Ekal Vidyalaya's initiatives. These contributions are helping advance three essential pillars of rural community development: Children’s Education, Healthcare Access, and Women's Vocational Training.
Education: Give a Child the Opportunity to Learn
Ekal Vidyalaya’s mission is to bring tuition-free education directly to remote villages, driven by a powerful fact: while it takes 42 years to graduate an uneducated family out of poverty, with just one first-generation learner, it takes only 12 years. The math behind this mission is simple and powerful: just $500 funds an entire school for approximately 30 children for a full year. Your contributions help break a devastating cycle of poverty by giving a child their first-ever chance to learn, read, and write.
Healthcare: Bring Essential Care Closer to Home
Supporting the Arogya healthcare initiative designed to reach 30 villages and approximately 15,000 residents.
For families in remote villages, accessing medical care can mean traveling long distances, losing wages, or going without treatment. Preventable and manageable conditions often remain undetected because even basic healthcare is out of reach. The Arogya program is designed to provide:
- Telemedicine consultations connecting villagers with medical professionals.
- Preventive health screenings for anemia, diabetes, hypertension, and other common conditions.
- Health education focused on hygiene, nutrition, women's health, and disease prevention.
- Community-based care through trained local women who serve as vital links between families and healthcare services.
By training women from within these communities, the initiative also creates opportunities for local employment and healthcare entrepreneurship. Your contribution helps bring essential healthcare closer to families who might otherwise go without it, while empowering local women to become part of the solution.
Women's Empowerment: Build Skills, Livelihoods, and Independence
Supporting a Women's Empowerment Center serving 30 villages, with a goal of training 480 women and youth over three years.
The Women's Empowerment Center offers:
- Vocational training in tailoring, embroidery, and other marketable skills.
- Financial literacy and entrepreneurship to help women manage income and establish small businesses.
- Economic opportunities that enable women to build sustainable livelihoods.
The center aims to train 480 women and youth over three years, with the potential to reach another 960 through satellite training centers established by graduates.
This creates a multiplying effect: women who develop new skills can become entrepreneurs, support their families, and pass their knowledge on to others. Your contribution helps create opportunities that extend beyond one individual, strengthening families and entire communities.

Learn With Us. Looking for help with a challenging subject or preparing for an important exam? Our volunteer instructors offer AP Physics 1 courses and exam boot camps, middle school math, Algebra 1, Credit by Exam (CBE) preparation, and tutoring. Strengthen your own academic skills while helping create opportunities for someone else.
Share Your Knowledge, Volunteer to Teach. Are you a teacher, professor, college student, working professional, or someone with expertise and a passion for teaching? You can teach a course, lead a weekend workshop, tutor students, or help develop instructional materials. Your time and knowledge can help students succeed here while supporting life-changing opportunities across the world.
Donate Directly. Don't need tutoring? You can still be part of our mission! Your donation can help support another rural school, expand access to healthcare, or provide women with the skills to build independent livelihoods. Every contribution, big or small, helps create lasting change.
